TRACE UNIQUE is a pattern archive project that discovers the distinct structures and traces existing within nature, objects, and culture, interpreting and documenting them through the visual language of patterns.
We observe and interpret the inherent order and structure of things—elements that already exist but have yet to be uncovered. Rather than mere decoration, a pattern is a way of recording the structures created by the world and the marks left by time.
From this perspective, TRACE UNIQUE discovers the underlying structures of objects and existence, translating and archiving them into a contemporary language of patterns.
트라스이니크는 자연, 사물, 문화 속에 존재하는 고유한 구조와 흔적을 발견하고, 이를 패턴이라는 시각 언어로 해석하고 기록하는 패턴 아카이브 프로젝트입니다.
우리는 이미 존재하지만 아직 발견되지 않은 사물의 고유한 질서와 구조를 관찰하고 해석합니다. 패턴은 단순한 장식이 아니라, 세계가 만들어낸 구조와 시간이 남긴 흔적을 기록하는 방식입니다.
이러한 관점에서 트라스이니크는 사물과 존재의 근원적 구조를 발견하고, 이를 동시대의 패턴 언어로 번역하여 아카이브합니다.

Philosophy
Why this specific pattern? TRACE UNIQUE’s answer is simple: because it is drawn directly from the inherent order of the object itself. By prioritizing the object’s own structure over the designer’s personal style, the pattern gains an undeniable, compelling power at that very moment.
왜 하필 이 패턴인가? 트라스이니크의 대답은 단순합니다. 사물 자체에 내재한 질서에서 직접 길어 올린 패턴이기 때문입니다. 디자이너의 개인적 스타일보다 사물 고유의 구조를 우선할 때, 패턴은 그 순간 부정할 수 없는 설득력을 갖게 됩니다.
TRACE represents the marks left by the passage of time on an object. PATTERN is the state where those traces are transformed into a repeatable system. TRACE UNIQUE is the process of capturing and freezing the time and marks an object has endured, recording them into a contemporary formal language.
TRACE는 시간이 사물에 남긴 흔적이며, PATTERN은 그 흔적이 반복 가능한 체계로 전환된 상태입니다. 트라스이니크는 사물이 견뎌온 시간과 흔적을 포착해 얼려내고, 이를 동시대의 조형 언어로 기록하는 과정입니다.
Each pattern is archived from an original trace, then applied across materials in collaboration with product, fashion, and architecture.
각 패턴은 원형의 흔적에서 아카이브되어, 제품·패션·건축과의 협업을 통해 다양한 소재에 적용됩니다.

Documenting the exquisite symmetry of Yangcheonsa Temple’s floral lattice doors, Eternal Bloom traces geometric lines blooming into floral forms. It captures the ‘fingerprint’ of ancient timber, translating a hidden order into a modern design language.
양천사 꽃살문의 정교한 대칭을 기록한 Eternal Bloom은 기하학적 선이 꽃의 형태로 피어나는 과정을 추적합니다. 오래된 목재의 ‘지문’을 포착해, 숨겨진 질서를 현대적 디자인 언어로 번역합니다.
